The fee for treating each horse varies, depending on the condition of the horse and the treatment it requires.

An initial fee of QR75 will be charged towards the first consultation, following which the horse will be seen by one of our qualified veterinarians. If the veterinarian decides the horse requires further tests, treatments, or procedures, then a file will be opened and the appropriate way forward will be followed. The fee will be determined based on the tests, treatments, or procedures required for the horse. This fee will be in addition to the payment for opening a file.

We collect an initial fee of QR XXX as a deposit for seeing the horse. Payments may be made through the ATM available here at EVMC or by cash.

The emergency services at EVMC will only be offered to horses that are brought in with a prior referral from a Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) veterinarian, or stable veterinarian. Based on the referral policy, any horse which has not been seen by a veterinarian will be directed to QREC, for an initial investigation.

Veterinarians from the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) or a stable may refer a surgical emergency on an ailing horse they have already seen, by calling EVMC’s emergency phone line (+97430917862). They will need to give a brief history of the horse – such as its condition, their findings, and the treatment provided.

There will be a charge for horses receiving emergency treatment at EVMC; owners will be required to pay a deposit upfront.

Here’s a basic guide – Heart Rate: 24-36 beats per minute; Temperature: 99-100.5℉ and Respiratory Rate: 12-18 breaths per minute.

Some typical signs that you will notice in a colic horse are: decreased appetite, lying down, and rolling, pawing, and decreased manure production.

The first thing to do is to move your horse to a clean, dry location where you can determine the extent of the wound. Try to put a pressure bandage over a bleeding wound with lots of padding. Then depending on the injury, you might need to get it checked out by a vet.

Yes. EVMC has a separate Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation section. Elective and emergency sports medicine services are provided by the team, under the supervision of a board-certified specialist clinician, along with a dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff.

EVMC offers routine and advanced dental services for your horse, using the most up-to-date equipment and techniques, provided by its credentialed equine dental technicians.

In general, a horse’s gait improves while on joint supplements, although they cannot cure or fix a real lameness issue. Including a joint supplement to the diet predominantly helps horses that get regular exercise and those that are retired and suffer from stiff joints. Consulting a vet for suggestions about the right product for your horse, is adviced.

EVMC seeks affiliations with existing universities to accept graduate, Ph.D., and master’s students to join the research laboratory. The center will also welcome veterinary students for externships, and help with the residencies’ training to get Board certifications. With such activities, the center will significantly increase awareness of the veterinary profession in Qatar. Along with the support of Qatar Foundation, the center will focus on educational research.
