EQUINE ORTHOPEDIC TRAUMA: ANESTHESIA CONSIDERATIONS AND CONCERNS

Dr. Alan Taylor entered the veterinary profession after 17-years as an Officer in the
Royal Air Force. He holds BSc’s in Biology, Natural Sciences with Chemistry and a
Veterinary degree from the University of Bristol.
Following an equine internship at the Royal Veterinary College, he was appointed staff
clinician in Anesthesia and later progressed to the position of Lead Equine and Large
Animal Anesthetist at the same institution.
Dr. Taylor obtained his Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Veterinary
Anesthesia in 2008. He then started an alternate track residency in Veterinary
Anesthesia and Analgesia undertaking a number of externships in this field.
